Top seed Rafael Nadal of Spain, Swiss star Roger Federer and Gael Monfils of France qualify for the third round of Rogers cup tennis tournament in Montreal.

In the second round, Rafael Nadal defeated Borna Coric of Croatia in straight sets by 6-1 and 6-2.

The Spaniard will next face 18-year-old Canadian Denis Shapovalov, who enjoyed the biggest win of his young career by defeating hard-hitting argentine Juan Martin Del Potro 6-3 and 7-6.
Roger Federer needed less than an hour to defeat Canadian Peter Polansky 6-2 and 6-1 in the second round.

This is Federer's first appearance since winning a record eighth Wimbledon title in July.

In another second round match, Gael Monfils outplayed Kei Nishikori of Japan 6-7, 7-5 and 7-6.
