Markhors beat Panthers by 160 runs in the opening match of Champions One Day Cup Cricket Tournament at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad.

Earlier, Panthers Captain Shadab Khan won the toss and put Markhor into bat.

Batting first Markhors scored 347 runs for the loss of six wickets in allotted 50 overs.

Kamran Ghulam played a brilliant knock and remained top scorer with 115 runs. He smashed 12 fours and three sixes in his innings.

Abdul Samad hit quick fire 62 off just 25 balls. His innings laced with six sixes and four fours.

Iftikhar Ahmed made unbeaten 57 runs while Captain Mohammad Rizwan made 45 runs.

For Panthers, Mohammad Hasnain and Mubasir Khan took two wickets each.

In reply Panthers were bowled out for 187 runs in 34.5 overs.

Chasing a daunting target Panthers lost six wickets for just 52 runs.

Amad Butt and Mubasir Khan than added 59 runs for the seventh wicket partnership.

Amad Butt remained top scorer with 72 runs while Mubasir Khan added 33 runs.

Usama Mir chipped in with 21 runs.

For Markhors, Naseem Shah and Akif Javed bagged three wickets each while Shahnawaz Dahani took two wickets.
