The Swedish Open: Nadal Advances Past Borg In Bastad
Nadal made a winning return to the ATP tour with a 6-3 6-4 win over Leo Borg in the first round of the Swedish Open.
Playing in his first singles match the 38-year-old Nadal was far from his best but a break of serve in each set proved enough to advance past Borg into the second round.
The 22-time grand slam winner is competing at the ATP 250 Clay Court event for the first time since he won the singles title as a 19-year-old in 2005.
Nadal has also teamed up with world number nine Casper Ruud at the tournament with the duo winning their first round doubles match on Monday.
