ICC T20 World Cup Super Eight: Afghanistan Beat Bangladesh By 8 Runs To Make It To Semi Final

Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by 8 runs in the crucial super eight round match to find a place in the semi final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Chinsing a target of 116 against Afghanistan, Bangladesh were all out for 105 runs in 17 point five overs.

For Afghanistan Rashid Khan and Naveenul Haq took four wickets each.

Earlier, Bangladesh's bowlers restricted the Afghans to 115 for five in allotted 20 overs.

Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain claimed three for 26 to lead the Bangladeshi effort on a surface where, having opted to take first strike, no-one in the Afghan top order managed to collar the varied attack.

Topscorer Rahmanullah Gurbaz's laborious 43 off 55 balls typified the struggle to get the ball away.
