Multan Sultans Reach PSL-8 Final: Sultans Thrash Lahore Qalandars By 84 Runs In Qualifier

Multan Sultans qualify for the final of Pakistan Super League 2023 after beating Lahore Qalandars by 84 runs in the qualifier at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

Earlier, Multan Sultans Captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and elected to bat.

Batting first Multan Sultans scored 160 runs for the loss of five wickets in allotted 20 overs.

Opener Usman Khan and Mohammad Rizwan provide 53 runs stand for the first wicket.

Usman made run-a-ball 29 with the help of four fours.

Rizwan added 33 runs, hitting three fours in 29 balls.

Rilee Rossouw made 13 runs as Multan Sultans were 90 for three after 13 overs.

At that point Kieron Pollard played a blistering knock, he smashed 57 runs off just 34 balls. Pollard hit six sixes and one four in his innings.

Tim David made unbeaten 22 with the help of one four and one six.

For Lahore Qalandars, Haris Rauf bagged three while Zaman Khan and Rashid Khan took one wicket each.

In reply chasing 161, Lahore Qalandars were bowled out for just 76 runs in 14.3 overs.

Only three batters reached double figure as lahore's batting collapsed.

Sam billings remained top scorer with 19 runs while Haris Rauf made 15.

For Multan Sultans, Sheldon Cottrell bagged three while Usama Mir took two wicket. Anwar Ali, Abbas Afridi, Ihsanullah and Kieron Pollard grabbed one wicket each.

Kieron Pollard declared player of the match.

With the win Multan Sultans qualify for the final of event. While Lahore Qalandars will face the winner of Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi match in eliminator two.
