Commonwealth Games, Wrestling: Pakistan's Sharif Tahir Wins Silver Medal In 74 Kg

Pakistan win another silver medal in Commonwealth Games Wrestling.

Pakistan's Muhammad Sharif Tahir won silver medal in 74 kilogram freestyle wrestling in Birmingham.

In the final of 74 kilogram category Naveen of India beat Muhammad Sharif Tahir by 9-0 points.

Earlier in the day, Muhammad Sharif Tahir defeated John Vake of Tonga in pre-quarter final by 11-0 and outplayed Jasmit Singh Phulka of Canada by 5-1 in quarter final.

In the Semi Final, Sharif Tahir defeated Cole Hawkins of New Zealand by 11-0 to qualify for final.

This is Pakistan’s third silver medals in the wrestling of commonwealth games. Pakistan also won two bronze medals in the wrestling.

Overall Pakistani wrestlers performed superbly as five out of six wrestlers won medals for the country.
