Mallorca Open Tennis: Bautista Agut Through To Second Round

It took a second set tiebreak, but Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut made it into the second round of the Mallorca Open Tennis with a 6-4 and 7-6 win over Japanese qualifier Taro Daniel.

Bautista Agut's Compatriot Feliciano Lopez could not make it through to the second round as he was beaten by Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands.

Lopez came up short in the tie-breaks of both sets to lose 7-6 and 7-6. Griekspoor plays Alex Molcan of Slovakia in the second round.

Meanwhile, Belorussian Ilya Ivashka set up a clash with second seed Stefanos Tsitsipas as he defeated Finland's Emil Ruusuvuori 6-4 and 6-1 in the opening round of the ATP 250 event in Spain.

Qualifier Alejandro Tabilo of Chile retired from his match against France's Benjamin Bonzi.

Bonzi was on course to win at 6-3 and 4-2 when Tabilo ended the match. Bonzi will play third seed Denis Shapovalov in the second round.
