World Snooker Championship : Mark Williams And Judd Trump To Meet In Semi-Finals

Three-time Champion Mark Williams reached his seventh World Championship semi-final with a 13-11 Victory over Yan Bingtao.

China's Yan looked on course for a first semi-final after breaks of 62 and 102 put him 10-8 ahead.

But Williams made a sublime 135 on his way to levelling at 10-10 and then pulled clear, before sealing his win with a run of 78.

The Welshman will now face 2019 winner Judd Trump in a best-of-33 meeting.

Trump claimed a comfortable 13-8 success over 2015 winner Stuart Bingham, having been out of sorts for most of Wednesday Morning's session.

But when Bingham missed a black off its spot with the score 8-5 in his favour, the momentum Swung towards trump, who won the final three frames to resume at 8-8.

He fired in a flurry of Trademark long pots to make two sizable contributions of 78 and 73 as he reeled off the first four frames of the evening.

And a break of 59 put him in firm control of the 21st frame before he confirmed his last-four berth.
