Rome Tennis : Musetti Advances As Hurkacz Retires

Lorenzo Musetti advanced on home turf at the Italian Open after Poland's Hubert Hurkacz retired before the end of the third game of the second set in their first round match.

The 19-year-old Italian was up 2-0 in the second set after winning the first set 6-4 when Hurkacz pulled out of the match due to an apparent injury.

Chile's Cristian garin also advanced on monday with a 7-5 6-2 win over Lloyd Harris of south africa.

Garin will face either qualifier Tommy Paul of the United States or number 10 seed Roberto Bautista agut in the second round.

In other play, Croatia's Marin Cilic came back from a slow start to overcome Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan 4-6 6-2 6-3.
