Augusta National Women's Amateur Golf : Japan's Tsubasa Kajitani Wins Title In Playoff

Japanese Teenager Tsubasa Kajitani calmly drained a par putt on the first playoff hole to win the Augusta National Women's Amateur Golf Tournament in Georgia.

The 17-year-old from Ikayama recorded three birdies, one bogey, and one double bogey, good for a final round 72 and a 1-over-par finish for the 54 hole event.

Kajitani defeated Emilia Migliaccio in the sudden death playoff after the American carded five birdies to three bogeys to also finish on 1-over-par.

The first two rounds of the event were played at Champions retreat Golf club in nearby evans with the top 30 golfers then moving to Augusta National for a Friday practice round.

This year's event was just the second edition of the Augusta National Women's Amateur, after the Inaugural in 2019 last year's was cancelled due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
