French Open: Rafael Nadal, Diego Schwartzman Qualify For Semi-Finals

Claycourt master Rafael Nadal moves into semi-finals as he passes his first real test of this year's French Open with a 7-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory against Italian rising star Jannik Sinner

The Spaniard was stretched by the 19-year-old sinner. The big-hitting Italian broke Nadal in the opening set and looked to serve out before the Spanish 12-time champion hit back and won the tie-break.

He set up a clash with Argentine Diego Schwartzman, who beat him in the Italian Open quarter-finals last month.

Earlier, Diego Schwartzman outlasted Dominic Thiem in a brutal claycourt war of attrition to win 7-6, 5-7, 6-7, 7-6, 6-2 and reach his first French Open semi-final.
