England enforced the follow on as Pakistan were bowled out for 273 runs in their first innings in reply to England’s 583/8 declared on the third day of third and final cricket test in Southampton.

Pakistan trail by 310 runs in the first innings.

Earlier, Pakistan resumed their innings on the overnight score of 24 for three but they were bowled out for 273 runs.

Pakistan lost Asad Shafiq on 30 who made five runs before James Anderson got his wicket.

Skipper Azhar Ali and Fawad Alam then added 45 runs for the fifth wicket stand.

Fawad Alam scored 21 runs before he was caught behind wicket off Dom Bess.

Skipper Azhar Ali and wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan then stabilized the innings.

Both added crucial 138 runs stand for the sixth wicket.

Azhar Ali completed his century with the help of 16 boundaries while Rizwan scored 53 runs. Rizwan hit five boundaries and one six in his innings.

At 213 Pakistan lost the crucial wicket of Rizwan after he was caught behind wicket off Chris Woakes.

Azhar Ali tried to save Pakistan but tail enders failed to support him.

Azhar Ali remained top scorer with unbeaten 141 runs knock. He smashed 21 boundaries in his innings.

For England, James Anderson bagged five while Stuart Broad took two wickets.

The hosts, 1-0 up in a three-match series and needing to avoid defeat at the Ageas bowl to secure a first series win over Pakistan in a decade.
