Germany's Alexander Zverev will face Austrian Dominic Thiem in US Open Men's Final at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Zverev beat Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta in a tense game to reach his first grand slam final.

Fifth seed Zverev looked lost as Carreno Busta played smartly and precisely to race into a two-set lead.

But Zverev showed incredible resolve to turn the match around and win 3-6 2-6 6-3 6-4 6-3 against the 20th seed.

It was a match that saw Thiem benefit from a disputed decision in the first set then twice break back as the third seed served to take sets two and three.

Thiem sealed a 6-2, 7-6, 7-6 as Medvedev found the net.

Both he and Zverev are looking to win their first grand slam singles title.

Sunday will also witness the first male major singles champion born in the 1990s.
